Marcel Lilavois Jr joined the Steinger, Greene, & Feiner team as an Attorney in March 2022. Prior to joining SGF, he was a Civil Rights Attorney at the Florida Justice Institute, where he litigated systemic civil rights violations in Florida’s federal courts. He also worked in the Early Representation Unit of the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s office, where he initiated representation and advocated on behalf of hundreds of people that were charged with felonies in Miami-Dade County. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Marcel received his B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, and his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Throughout his time in law school and since graduating, Marcel has volunteered his time and legal skills in a variety of ways, including representing high school students in school suspension hearings, serving as a constitutional law debate coach, and teaching trial advocacy skills. He received a Judicial Service Award for his work as a Panelist in Florida’s 19th Circuit Juvenile Diversion Program and has worked as a Coordinator in Legal Outreach’s Law & Justice Institute at New York University School of Law and Summer Law Institute at Fordham University School of Law.
Marcel is an active member of The Florida Justice Association, The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association, The Jamaican American Bar Association, The TJ. Reddick Bar Association, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He brings to Steinger, Greene, & Feiner a deep commitment to community and fierce advocacy on behalf of his clients to achieve the best result possible.
