Tenant Dealing with Ceiling Collapse

A complaint was filed in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida – Broward County, detailing an incident that no one would reasonably expect. A tenant of an apartment building says that a portion of her ceiling collapsed, fell on top of her and caused injury.

The lawsuit names 99-31 Holdings LLC and Pristine Property Management LLC as liable for the incident. The plaintiff is claiming negligence on the part of both companies. According to the complaint filed in court, the following occurred:

The plaintiff was in her apartment on June 17, 2016. The apartment is owned by the defendants. A portion of the ceiling collapsed onto the plaintiff, causing her injury. She has dealt with pain and suffering, mental anguish and impairment, as well as incurring medical expenses as a result of the incident.

The plaintiff is requesting a trial by jury. She is alleging that the defendants failed to properly maintain the property, did not comply with applicable codes, and did not warn tenants about the danger. The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages, costs and interest. She is being represented in court by attorney Yeemee Chan of Steinger, Greene & Feiner, PA.
