Port St. Lucie Man Arrested for Sexual Abuse

PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA – A man from Port St. Lucie was charge with sexual assault last week after continuing to have sexual relations with a girl after she told him to stop. The arrest affidavit outlines the details.

According to law enforcement, Corey Lance Lewis, 19, of Port St. Lucie was at a friend’s home watching a movie. Also at the home and watching the movie with Lewis was a girl. Lewis allegedly began to touch the girl, and the girl repeatedly said “no” to the man’s advances. Lewis persisted despite the girl’s protests.

Lewis was arrested and booked at the St. Lucie County Jail late last Sunday. He was released after he posted a $15,000 bond. The age of the girl was not released.

If you believe that your child may have been or is the victim of sexual assault at the hands of a juvenile or adult, asking the right questions can be important. Unlike this girl who willingly came forward, your child may not be apt to do so. Ask age-appropriate questions of your child. If you need assistance, a licensed counselor can be an invaluable resource.

You should be able to trust that your child will be safe at the home of a friend or family member. Unfortunately, you cannot always control who else is in the home. Do your best to be aware of who your child will be spending time with. Encourage your child to alert you to any changes in a guest list. The more information you have, the better able to protect your child you are.

If your child or a young family member has been the victim of sexual abuse, you need an experienced and compassionate attorney on your side. Our personal injury attorneys are here for you.
