Man Arrested After Deadly Hit-and-Run


An accident occurred in Palm Beach County early in the morning hours of August 21, 2017. A man has been arrested as a result of that accident, facing very serious charges.

According to reports from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a 21-year-old man has been charged with DUI with property damage, driving without a license in a crash causing death, vehicular homicide, hit-and-run in a crash causing death and trespassing.  The man was traveling in a vehicle, driving at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended another car. The man fled the scene of the crash immediately following the incident.

The crash occurred on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road just after midnight. Killed in the crash was a 24-year-old man driving a Buick. The victim died approximately a half an hour following the accident. The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene.

Police did not release any further details surrounding the accident. Law enforcement officials do remind the public that they have a duty to stop after an accident, no matter how minor. Any persons involved in a vehicle collision should remain on scene until they are cleared by police.
