Jeff Gladney, the Cardinals cornerback, was involved in a fatal car accident heading westbound on the Woodall Rogers Freeway in Dallas Monday, May 30th at 2:30 AM. This was a two-car accident and police said that the white vehicle was speeding and clipped the second vehicle involved from behind. The white vehicle lost control and hit a pier beam on the freeway. Both the man and woman in the white vehicle died. The man and woman in the second vehicle were not seriously injured.
The man in the white car was identified as Jeff Gladney and the woman was identified as Andrea Palacios, his girlfriend. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. The vehicle was found overturned and both Gladney and Palacios were pronounced dead on the scene. Both the Cardinals and the Vikings shared statements on social media after finding out the news about Gladney’s death. As well as his fellow teammates, sharing their condolences for their fallen teammate.
At 25 years old, Jeff Gladney had returned to Texas this past week to help close on a house that he had bought for his mother. Just after spending time with his son who had just turned 1 year old this past February.
