Best Things to Do In Miami for Halloween

Maybe Halloween will be your first big date and you are looking to impress. Perhaps it’s a night spent with your spouse and children and you don’t want to do the same thing you did last year. No matter the reason, you are looking for something to do this holiday. The good news is that you live in or near Miami. That means that you have a almost never-ending list of spooky things to do this Halloween.

Spooky Zoo Nights

Any family looking for something fun to do this Halloween should head to Zoo Miami. Spooky Zoo Nights will be held October 28 – 31 from 7 to 11 p.m. Halloween-themed attractions are perfect for children of all ages. Moms, dads and kids can don their favorite costume and then party in the dimly-lit zoo with ghouls and goblins. Candy stations, a haunted house and hidden pathways make it an evening to remember.

30th Annual Sundowner at Vizcaya

Each year, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens has a themed party for Halloween and encourages guests to dress accordingly. This year’s theme is Prohibition. Dress in your favorite vintage costume on October 29 and party from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will be a live band, an open bar and a chance to mingle with some of the finest people in Miami. Funds raised during the event will be used to restore and preserve the historic estate.

Nightmare on the Beach

For many people, Jaws is enough of a beach nightmare. For those who feel that Jaws isn’t scary enough, Lummus Park is having Nightmare on the Beach. October 29 is the date and 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. is the time. There will be food provided by some of the best chefs and caterers in the area, performers and other surprises. Wear your Halloween best, but make sure you are at least 21 before you decide to go. This party is for adults only.

Halloween Spooktacular at CocoWalk

Held on Halloween night, CocoWalk in Coconut Grove is a great — and free — way to spend the holiday. Kids can walk around collecting candy, watch a magician and grab a balloon animal or two. There will be costume contests and other entertainment. Live music throughout the evening is sure to entertain.

House of Horror Haunted Park at International Mall

Looking for a screaming good time? There is no haunted house quite like this one. There are 25 different scenes, more than 30 characters lurking in dark corners, and guarantees by the staff of even more ways to make you shriek in terror. Kids can watch sideshow acts, find a thrill on a carnival ride and watch live musical performances. The night is sure to be terrifying for all.

Halloween on the Mile

If you are looking for another option on Halloween night, Halloween on the Mile in the City of Coral Gables is an excellent choice. This is a great option if you want to celebrate with the whole family. Children can participate in trick-or-treating along the street, participate in story time and other activities, and then enter the costume contest. Thinking about bringing the family dog? Go ahead and do it. Just make sure they are wearing their favorite costume for a chance to win the pet costume contest.

Speaking of the family pet, why not head over to Howl-O-Ween with the kids and the dog? October 30 is set to be a day filled with family-friendly activities. For just $5 per person, you can enjoy an afternoon of games, costume contests, parades and giveaways. All moneys raised will benefit Paws 4 You Rescue.

Halloween at Bayside Marketplace

Bayside Marketplace is promising to have free and fun things to do on Halloween from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be entertainment, live music and trick-or-treating. Any family with a child in costume will receive discounted parking.
