Best St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Miami

The holiday season is over. Or is it? November and December may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean we have to leave the celebrating with them. Now that we are firmly into March, people around the country are looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day and for more than just the green beer. This much-loved holiday isn’t only celebrated by the Irish among us. Everyone likes to show off their green spirit in March.

St. Paddy’s Day may be traditionally celebrated with alcohol and revelry, but it isn’t the only way to have a good time. If you are looking for a way to celebrate in Miami, you have a multitude of options. Here are five of the best ways to bring a bit of the Irish into your life in the city.

St. Paddy’s Day Festival

Show off your green swag at the event that people want to be seen at. Head to the corner of Mary Brickell and into the doors of Fado for an amazing festival that is sure to have you telling stories for years to come. You can enjoy breakfast and brunsh before stepping out to enjoy the outdoor entertainment. Two DJ stages, Irish dancers and, yes, beer gardens, this is sure to be party central.

Admission is $5 at the door. Optionally you can pay $15 for admission and get two free 24-oz. beers or pay $30 for admission and just $2 for a variety of drinks throughout the day.

Paint with a Twist

Get your creative juices flowing at Painting With a Twist in Miami. The popular spot is hosting a green-themed party for the holiday. As an attendee, you will paint a green landscape and sip any spirits that you wish to bring. Wear green and you are privy to creating an extra painting. For just $35, the event can’t be beat.

Painting with a Twist is a fantastic way to have a good time and is gaining popularity across the country. If you have yet to experience this enjoyable night out, why not make your first time on St. Patrick’s Day? Head to Painting with a Twist at 7 p.m on Tuesday, March 17 to take part in the party.

John Martin’s

Want a bit of authenticity in your Irish dinner? Then you will want to head over to John Martin’s, the local Irish pub. You will hear a live Irish band complete with bagpipers as you eat delectable Irish food and drink Irish beer (or not).

If you decide to go to John Martin’s for your celebration, be sure to bring your appetite. The pub has some of the best Irish food around and you are guaranteed a full belly before you leave no matter what time of year it is. The party kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 2 a.m. You can visit johnmartins.com for more information about the festivities.

Walk, Waggle, and Stroll Dog Walk

Aw, who doesn’t want to spend a day celebrating with their favorite pooch? That’s exactly what you can do at Miami Lighthouse’s eighth annual dog parade. The theme is, of course, St. Patty’s Day, and the aim is to raise awareness for service animals. Your dog could win an award for best costume, most talented, or looking the most like its owner. The afternoon is full of fun for dogs and humans alike. The walk takes place from 9 a.m. until noon on Sunday, March 15. Registration is $30 for walkers, and the registration cost is waived for walkers who are visually impaired.

36th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival

If you want a great way to party with the family this holiday, make a move to Coral Gables. The family-friendly affair is an ode to everything green. It is perfect for adults and kids alike. You and the little ones can watch Irish dancers, listen to drums, eat a bit of soda bread, or make a few crafts. There will be vendors, a bounce house and more. Remember: Everyone is a little bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.

Celebrating on St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to be sure. How you choose to celebrate is entirely up to you. Whether you choose to celebrate with your partner, your pooch or your little one, your goal should be to have fun and stay safe. If you choose to drink alcohol during your partying, do so with a sense of responsibility. You don’t want your celebration to be the reason that you are recovering from injuries in the weeks ahead.
