A motorcycle crash bar is usually a loop of chrome-plated steel tubing that’s mounted to each side of a motorcycle’s lower frame. They are designed to protect motorcycle engines and body panels as well as the rider. They’re less popular now than they used to be but still available on many motorcycles today. As well as their protective function, they’re also valuable as a mounting point for accessories like highway pegs, lights, on police motorcycles they’re used for sirens, cameras, radar guns. These may be added as an accessory after the fact from your dealer, though they are as well offered from manufacturers and can be installed after the sale or purchase of a motorcycle.
