Gary Thomas Iscoe, founding partner of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, was born May 16, 1962, in New York City, where Gary attended high school. After graduating high school, Gary volunteered for the U.S. Army and completed basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He went on to graduate Legal Clerk School at the US Army Institute of Administration in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
He then served in the military, at the Staff Judge Advocates Office in West Point, New York. After his time in the army, Gary enrolled in the City University of New York, Hunter College. During this time he attended night school, while also clerking at two prominent New York Law Firms: Kane, Dalsimer Kane Sullivan & Kurucz, P.A. and Fish & Neave, LLP.
Gary graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1988 and was President of the debate team. Also in 1988, Gary moved to Miami, enrolled at the University of Miami Law School and continued to work and go to school. In 1991, Gary graduated from the University of Miami, College of Law. While in Miami, Gary gained valuable experience working in a Personal Injury Practice.
By 1997, Gary founded Steinger, Iscoe, & Greene under the principle that the firm would only represent individuals, never a corporation or insurance company. To this day, Gary has run the firm on this belief, making good on his promise to never take a case representing an insurance carrier or large company. The firm has founded multiple locations throughout Florida-- including offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie and Okeechobee-- due to Gary’s guidance, leadership and vision.
Steinger, Iscoe, & Greene employs 40 attorneys, dozens of paralegals and a support staff of nearly 175 people. More than two decades after its inception, “for our clients” continues to be more than a motto, but rather a way of life for the firm and for Gary.
Gary has lectured across the country on the practice of law. He has been an active member of the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has received the 10/10 AVVO rating, which recognizes lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability.
Based on the recommendations of his peers, Gary’s 10/10 rating serves as a testament to the fact that fellow attorneys consider him to be at the highest level of professional excellence. Additionally, Gary has served as a Chair on the 15th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and as a member of the Florida Bar Professional Ethics Committee.
Gary and his wife, Adelaida, proudly support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Palm Beach County High School Merit Scholarship, the Latin Heritage Scholarship, Autism Speaks and the Child Advocate Scholarship. Also, they have given to over 250 charitable and civic organizations since the firm’s inception.
In addition to his financial contributions, Gary believes it is his duty to make living in Florida safer for everyone. Gary played an instrumental role in a 2018 case which changed the training of tractor trailer drivers. At first, this case seemed unwinnable due to the difficulty in proving negligence, but it eventually grew to be a big win. Beyond the money, we required the Defendant Trucking Company to provide a written apology to the plaintiff.
Also, the defendant is now required to implement, at the very least, three safety training programs, enforcing their drivers to address the safety issues that contributed to the wreck. As a result of this case, Gary knows tractor trailer drivers will use more precaution on the roads. Therefore, our community’s roads and interstates will be significantly safer.
With all of his success, Gary’s personal accomplishment of raising four children with Adelaida, his wife of 26 years, remains dearest to his heart.
