A hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman last Thursday. The accident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. near Miami Lakes Drive and Fairway Drive. The victim was located by a passerby who called 911.
According to reports, law enforcement officials responded to the scene and located the woman in the roadway. There was a fast-food bag near the woman, leading police to speculate that she was walking after having purchased something to eat.
She was believed to have been hit while attempting to cross the street in a marked crosswalk. The vehicle that struck the woman did not remain on scene. Even though the driver of the vehicle did not stay to render aid to the victim, police believed they knew what type of car they were looking for. Their assumptions proved correct as the vehicle was located sometime after the accident.
Police located the Mercedes-Benz that was involved in the fatal accident. There was no word on whether the driver of that vehicle had been located or charged with any crime. Friends took to social media to remember the woman who was in town for business as a “beautiful soul.”
