WEST PALM BEACH, Fla – WPEC-Ch. 12 obtained a police body cam video showing the moment a woman collided with a police cruiser. The woman was subsequently charged with DUI, driving without a license, and refusing to submit to a blood alcohol content test.
Immediately after the accident, Officer Eric Evrley exited his patrol car and called his dispatcher, asking her to send medical help. Both Evrley and the driver of the other car, Cynthia Osborne, 53, of West Palm Beach, were taken to a local hospital with injuries.
The accident occurred on September 17 at the intersection of Worthington Road and Australian Avenue. Osborne turned her vehicle left, in front of Evrley. The officer’s airbags deployed and, in reaction to the collision, Evrley is seen and heard exiting his police car, cursing. Osborne opened her car door partially clothed. The officer asks her if she is okay and instructs her to “fix herself.” The officer then sat on the curb waiting for medical attention.
Evrley can be heard instructing Osborne to turn her car off and remove the key from the ignition. Osborne complied and handed over her keys. Evrley claimed to be seeing stars every time he moved his neck.
According to reports, Osborne was driving without a valid license and had an open bottle of wine in her vehicle.
Osborne was arrested following the receipt of medical attention and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. She was being held on an $80,000 bond. Neither Evrley nor Osborne sustained serious injury.
