Most often car accidents happen suddenly and seemingly. Sometimes they involve only one vehicle, and sometimes a vehicle may careen into another unsuspecting vehicle. Such seemed to be the case with two accidents in St. Johns County yesterday, reports StAugustine.com.
Around 12:45 a.m. the first accident happened when a 2002 Ford Explorer drove off the road while going through a curve near Industry Center Drive.
It struck the medium and overturned, and since the driver was not wearing a seat belt, he was ejected from the vehicle. The man was flown via air ambulance to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The second accident took place around 10:30 a.m. in Fruit Cove when a 23-year-old woman drove off the right shoulder of the road and then over-corrected into oncoming traffic into the path of van.
The van hit the right side of her 2001 Nissan, and even though she was wearing a seat belt, she also was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver and the passenger of the van had only minor injuries.
To avoid car accidents, you need to stay alert and focused on your driving at all times. And of course, expect the unexpected and drive safely under all circumstances.
