Early Sunday morning a three-car crash in Volusia County, Florida, took the life of one man and injured four others.
FloridaToday.com reports that the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. when a 1994 Ford Sedan traveling on State Road 415 crossed the center line and struck a boat trailer being towed by a Jeep. The sedan, which contained five people, also hit a 2003 Dodge pickup truck.
An 18-year-old male passenger in the sedan was ejected from the car and killed, and two other passengers, aged 19 and 18, were seriously injured and taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. The driver fled on foot from the scene, located near Reed Ellis Road and the Lake Monroe Conservation Area. None were wearing seatbelts. All were Sanford residents.
Two people in the pickup, aged 38 and 39, suffered minor injuries, though the two people inside the Jeep were not injured.
The accident is being investigated, with charges pending.
