A 23-year-old motorcyclist died in Spring Hill, Florida, early Tuesday when he collided with a van driven by a woman delivering newspapers for the St. Petersburg Times.
The crash occurred around 3:18 a.m. on Sealawn Drive near Seaview Drive when an eastbound Dodge minivan turned left in front of the westbound Lifan motorcycle and the two collided, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The van was driven by a 31-year-old Spring Hill woman who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and hadn’t been drinking. She was not injured in the crash.
The motorcyclist—a resident of Brooksville—was thrown into the roadway and pronounced dead the scene. An accident report reveals that he was not wearing a helmet.
The Florida Highway Patrol says they’re awaiting results of an alcohol test on the motorcyclist. They continue to investigate the fatal crash.
