Florida family compensated for severe injuries after auto accident
Barry Chenman of Steinger, Greene, & Feiner is proud to announce a motor vehicle accident settlement of $800,000 for a recent client.
On May 11, 2018, Jose, Zeneida, and Jovany Delgado were on their way home after picking up their new car. The family of three had saved for months and were excited to finally pick up their new vehicle. Another driver ran a red light, hitting the Delgados’ car and pushing them off the road. The car was a total loss, and each member of the family suffered injuries.
After the wreck, Mr. Delgado had debilitating low back and hip pain, which required a fusion surgery. Mrs. Delgado was left with a herniated disc, which hit her spinal cord and caused loss of feeling in her hand. She required injection therapy and surgery to alleviate her pain. Their son, Jovanny, suffered a shoulder tear, leading to cortisone injection and therapy.
The Delgados were awarded $800,000 in an out-of-court settlement on March 14, 2019, to compensate for their medical procedures, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more.
“The Delgado family felt hopeless after their accident,” says Chenman. “In addition to their physical pain, they had suffered the loss of the new car they had worked so hard to save for. Their rehabilitation took so much time and energy away from this young family, but they feel a renewed sense of hope, thanks to their settlement.
