Our very own Todd Baker has been featured in a Law.com article that highlights his magnificent career as a Fort Lauderdale car accident attorney. Of course, any time one of our family is featured in any way, the Steinger, Greene & Feiner family can’t help but be a little proud, and this is no exception.
Todd has always been an exceptional attorney, bringing an exceptional level of quality and experience to every one of his cases. Since joining the firm in 2015, Todd has always elevated our firm’s name with his action, his character, and his record for winning tough cases. He has changed more lives since joining the firm, ensuring that every single one of our clients receives the compensation they deserve, and he’s done so with a level of professionalism and grace that is astounding.
Here are some of the highlights from the article:
What drew you to a career in law? “I used to think it was that I enjoyed arguing, but honestly TV shows and movies like A Few Good Men, Law and Order and A Civil Action opened my eyes to the difference good lawyers can make. I wanted to be a part of that.”
“What has been your proudest career moment and your biggest hurdle? “I was very fortunate to be elected by leaders from across Florida to serve as the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division president-elect. I am excited to serve in that role, help the landscape of the profession for young lawyers, and effectuate change for the betterment of our profession. My biggest career hurdle is my inability to say no. I am constantly taking on more work, more cases, and more responsibilities. I still need to learn to be judicious in what I take on.”
What is the top quality that you’ve used to succeed in the profession? “We were given two ears and one mouth. Many lawyers like to do the talking, and I am sometimes guilty of that too. I am always trying to do a better job of actively listening — to my client, to the Judge, to the witness — so that I better understand how I need to respond.”
Who is your favorite mentor and why? “My managing partner, Michael Feiner. When I think I am working hard, he pushes me to work harder. When I think I am working efficiently, he shows me a better way. When I think I have mastered an area, he shows me something I have missed. He is constantly pushing me to be a better lawyer, better person, and a better version of myself. I have never had a person, outside of my family, make such an investment in me. I am forever grateful.”
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you? “A reputation takes a lifetime to build but a second to ruin.”
