One person was killed and others were injured in a crash in West Boca Raton on Sunday, March 4. The accident occurred near Palmetto Park and Boca Rio roads.
According to officials, the accident happened at around 5 p.m. As a result of the incident, a utility pole was split in half. Law enforcement said that a vehicle was speeding in the inside lane and hit the median. That caused the vehicle’s driver to lose control and the vehicle ended up crossing all lanes of traffic.
As the vehicle moved uncontrolled across the lanes, it hit a vehicle and then another. After these two collisions, the car hit the curb and then a light pole. The car spun and flipped and finally came to a stop on the sidewalk. The driver of the vehicle was ejected from it and passed away at the hospital.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the accident were transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. Because the driver of the original car died as the result of the accident, there are no charges to be filed.
