It happened last week when a man led police on a car chase in Florida. The chase ended when the man crashed his vehicle near Palm Beach Gardens, but not before the man attempted to drive his vehicle in a deputy. The man who led the chase was wanted for armed, masked burglary.
After the man crashed his vehicle near Palm Beach Gardens, he continued moving his vehicle until he stopped it in a ditch on Northlake Boulevard. The man got out of the vehicle and into the water. According to police, that water is infested with alligators.
Officials searched the area in several ways until the suspect was located. Officers searched on foot, by air and with drones. It was the drone that found the man, thanks to its thermal-imaging capabilities. Once the man was located, airboats were sent to retrieve him from the reeds and dense grass that he was hiding in.
The man was said to be “uncooperative” during his apprehension, but reports did not specify to what extent. The man will not only answer to his warrant in court, but to new charges as well. As a result of the incident, the man was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and fleeing.
Reports indicated that there were no injuries in the pursuit or apprehension.
