A 15-month-old Orlando, Florida, boy was run over by a car on Tuesday, September 6, and is now in critical condition at an Orlando hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol says that a driver backed over the boy outside a home in Orange County around 4 p.m.
The driver is a 50-year-old male who backed his Lexus out of the driveway and hit the boy, dragging him into the street. The man then left the scene at San Sebastian Circle in the Pine Hills area.
The man was visiting the home to ask about getting his daughter’s hair styled by the tot’s mother, says Florida Highway Patrol Seargent Kim Montes.
He was arrested two hours later and has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused serious injury, driving with a suspended license, and backing improperly. He has told officers that the boy’s family beat him up after the accident, though Montes told The Orlando Sentinel that they’ve found no evidence of that.
