Several people were injured last week in a crash that involved a bus, a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle. The accident occurred near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Six people in total were injured as a result of the wreck.
According to police reports, the crash happened at the intersection of Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest 34th Street. A news helicopter was able to capture images of the accident scene. There was a tractor trailer observed on the street along with a van, and there was a white SUV just off the street.
Three of the six injured people were treated on the scene of the accident. The remaining three injured people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said that the people transported to the hospital did not experience life threatening injuries.
Police did not release any further details of the accident. It is unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was or will be charged in the incident.
Drivers are urged to use caution at any intersection. Traffic signals are helpful, but should not be relied upon. Even if you have the green light, be sure to look both ways for oncoming traffic before you proceed into the intersection. Luckily in this instance, no one was seriously injured. The results could have been much different.
