Being involved in a car accident is frightening enough, but imagine if you had your pets in the vehicle with you and they were stolen. That’s what happened to a family in Osceola County. The story ends happily, though, as the puppies and family were recently reunited.
According to reports, a woman and her father were involved in a car accident in December. The man did not survive the crash. In the aftermath, a witness approached the female victim asking if she could help. The witness told the woman that she had the puppies and would take them home with her and then call. That call never came.
The family scoured Craigslist hoping for a sign of the puppies but never saw them posted. The two dogs were recently found in an abandoned house after the people who had been living in it were evicted. A shelter worker recognized the puppies immediately and contacted the owners.
The puppies and the woman’s boyfriend were catching a plane and heading back to Connecticut where they live.
Helping out in a vehicle accident is an admirable thing to do. Taking advantage of someone’s misfortune is clearly not. The happy news is that, at the end of the day, everyone was reunited.
