It is something people do everyday. Pull up to the automatic car wash or laser wash, put their credit card in the machine and drive in. Very few people have experienced anything but driving out of the car wash with a sparkling vehicle. Unfortunately for a woman in Florida, the experience was much different.
According to reports, a woman in Florida was running errands for a wedding, her job as maid of honor. The woman decided to get her car washed when she was out and drove into an automated car wash. The woman followed the instructions on the sign inside of the car wash. It was soon that she felt a bump. Then another. The woman had struck a vehicle ahead of her inside of the car wash, despite following the machine’s instructions to pull forward.
The woman exited her vehicle after the car ahead of her pulled out of the car wash and left the scene. The woman was left with damage to her vehicle totaling more than $1,000, some of which the car wash owner has offered to pay. The woman is not satisfied with offers to pay part of her bill; she wants the entire repair footed by either the driver of the vehicle, who she cannot find, or the car wash owner.
Ultimately, the car wash did pay for the repairs to the woman’s car, as the accident was not her fault. Whether or not the car wash will recoup its money from the other driver is doubtful.
