Florida Bar Hosts Reunion of Leadership Alumni

The Florida Bar Winter Meeting played host to the first reunion of the Bar’s William Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy alumni and current fellows. It was a family event, with dinner, karaoke and the sharing of the wonderful memories of members, past and current.

Thanks to the reunion, 211 members of the Academy had the opportunity to network, talk about ideas and plans for the future. And thanks to the Academy, lawyers are able to build relationships with one another. Our own Anthony J. Visone traveled from Orlando to Port St. Lucie to attend the event and was pleased that he did.

“I would not have missed an opportunity to see my fellow alumni as well as current fellows and committee members,” Visone said. “The event was hopefully the first of many successful Leadership Academy alumni events to come.”

Many members of the Academy see their time in the group as a vital part of their lives and careers. Through events such as the reunion, members are able to maintain old relationships and build new ones that enhance their profession. Any attorney in Florida who is in good standing with the Bar can apply to join the Leadership Academy.

Graduates of the Leadership Academy are employed as lawyers throughout the state, volunteer in local associations and organizations, and hold positions on the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. Members can also be found on The Florida Board of Governors. Members of the Leadership Academy do fantastic things for the legal profession and their individual communities.
