A Fort Lauderdale firefighter was injured on Wednesday, May 17, after being involved in a car accident. The accident occurred in the Acreage, on Northlake Boulevard close to Coconut Avenue.
According to reports of the incident, the firefighter was on his way home from work when he was struck by another vehicle. The impact of the initial crash was severe enough to send the firefighter’s vehicle into a nearby tree. The car the man was driving flipped over after striking the tree, casing the man to be trapped inside.

The firefighter was airlifted to a local hospital. Reports did not indicate if the person in the other vehicle sustained injury.
Those close to the firefighter say that he has been with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue for 10 years. He is a married father who will soon welcome his second child into the world. He is in line for a promotion within the department. The family is accepting donations through GoFundMe to help with expenses.
