An adult club in West Palm Beach, Double Dee’s, is better known to area residents as “Double Trouble.” The club is being scrutinized after a car accident took the life of a 25-year-old. The club is new to the area, opening in November, providing adult entertainment and food.
Neighbors in a gates community, Palm Beach Plantation, made moves to stop the club from being built to no avail. Residents have made comments that they do not want this type of club in their neighborhood. The accident that is causing people to take a closer look at the club took place on Thursday, December 29.
In that crash was Paige Crowley. The 25-year-old was a dancer at Double Dee’s. Friends of the woman who lived in North Miami Beach say that she had just gotten off work and was driving home at about 5:30 in the morning. It is presumed by law enforcement officers that Crowley had drugs or alcohol in her system. It was less than a mile from the club that Crowley hit a guard rail, a dump truck and finally a car.
When plans for the club were announced to the public, one area resident, Tami Clay, said, “I just feel like with drinking and that kind of environment I feel like we have some exposure for maybe some drunkenness coming out of there, just rowdy party behavior that I’m not privy to or don’t like to participate in.” It is worrisome that what some predicted may be coming true.
