A man riding a bicycle in Port Charlotte, Florida was charged with a DUI on Friday October 18th around 9:30PM following a crash the intoxicated cyclist caused. The man in question, 51-year-old Mickey Hauri, was attempting to cross U.S. 41 when he pedaled in front of a van and was struck. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and charged with DUI-Bicycle, failure to yield and no light at night. Additionally, he was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the van, 78-year-old Joryn Schmitz was uninjured.
