It isn’t known what caused the accident early Friday morning. What is known is that a car ended up on its side right in the middle of train tracks in West Palm Beach. Here’s what else police do know.
Two women were driving down Clematis Street just before 1 a.m. on Friday morning. The women smashed through a fence after driving through a parking lot. The car flipped onto the tracks at the intersection of Clematis Street and Tamarind Street. The information was provided by Tri-Rail security officers.
Crews responded to the scene, finding bike lockers pushed to the opposite side of the tracks. The women were removed from the scene and given medical attention for minor injuries at a local hospital. There were no reports of Amtrak train delays as a result of the accident, and there were no trains on that section of track at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
