A woman in West Palm Beach was struck by a car and is currently on life support in intensive care. Her family is understandably upset, but even more so because the person that hit the woman did not stop. Instead, the person driving the vehicle that hit the woman left her lying unconscious on the roadway.
The woman who was hit works as a dog trainer at Petco in Palm Beach Gardens. She was hit at the intersection of 45th Street and Greenwood Avenue. The incident occurred on January 23 at about 7 p.m. Police have received conflicting accounts of the incident and, as such, are releasing very few details.
Authorities are saying that the woman was crossing the street to catch a bus. The woman does not own a car and takes public transportation wherever she goes when she isn’t using her bicycle.
When the suspect is located, they face felony charges and up to five years in prison. Hitting a person or a car and leaving the scene instead of waiting for the police is committing a crime.
