Several people were hurt, including two police officers, in a crash in downtown Fort Lauderdale on December 3.
According to reports, a Nissan Juke SUV was traveling near the intersection of Southeast Third Avenue and Southeast Second Street when its driver ran a red light. As a result of running the light, the SUV struck a police car. No one was killed in the accident, but both police officers and five other people were transported to local hospitals to be treated for injuries. The extent of those injuries was unknown at the time of reporting.
Pictures of the vehicles involves showed extensive damage. The police car sustained front-end damage, and the Nissan was damaged along the driver’s side. The driver and rear doors were crumpled and the bumper appeared to have been partially torn from the vehicle. Reports also indicated that the Nissan ultimately landed on its passenger side which also sustained damage.
