Two people were sent to a hospital and a child lost their life in an accident in Southwest Miami-Dade. The accident between an ATV and a car occurred at the intersection of Grossman Drive and 198th Street.
There were very few details provided at the time the accident was reported. Officials did not indicate who was riding the ATV and who was in the car. Officials also neglected to release information regarding how they believe the accident took place.
All-terrain vehicles are made for off-road use. In most cities, it is illegal to drive these vehicles on the road, and cars do not expect to see them, meaning they don’t look for them. Why this ATV was being driven on a public street is not known, but officials would like people to know that this behavior can be dangerous.
Two victims of the accident, an adult and a teenager, were both listed in critical condition. It was the second collision on December 23. Earlier, a motorcyclist was involved in an accident. There were no other vehicles involved in that crash, and the person on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
