Steinger, Iscoe & Greene applauds workers’ compensation attorney Gregory Forsythe as Tournament Co-Chair of the 15th Annual Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament on October 22, 2010.

Through their tireless efforts, workers’ compensation attorneys such as Mr. Forsythe are directly impacting the families of workers’ compensation clients whose injuries prevent them from earning the income they once had to support their families and their children’s educational futures. Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, Inc. awards scholarships to students who are dependents or descendants of workers who were injured or killed in the course of their employment and who are eligible to receive benefits under the Florida workers’ compensation system.

“Last year, the golf tournament raised more than $10,000,” Forsythe said. “I am very excited for this year’s event and would like to thank all of those who have participated in the past, and who will be participating this year. It is an honor to sit on the board of directors of such a great charity. Thank you, Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, for continuing to champion community involvement. I am proud to be an attorney at a law firm that is dedicated to making a difference both inside and outside the courtroom.”

Remember, even having one drink can affect your ability to drive. Do your part to help prevent Florida drunk driving accidents by planning ahead before you go out, designating a driver, and never getting behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking.

Personal injury attorney Jeffrey Rollins of the Port Saint Lucie office of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene went back to school, to the head of the class, as teacher. An accomplished personal injury lawyer, Mr. Rollins’ greatest education has come through professional experience and has certainly paved the way for his charge as educator and resource in the Paralegal Studies/Legal Assisting program at Indian River State College.

Just last week Mr. Rollins received a ruling in his favor from Florida’s 4th District Court of Appeals in a slip-and-fall case against national retail chain Target Corporation. Mr. Rollins’ excellence in the legal field is matched by his dedication to family, his community and philanthropic causes throughout the Treasure Coast. Earlier this year, as chair of the Saint Lucie County Bar Association Mock Trial program, Mr. Rollins opened the courtroom doors and the legal process to 4th and 5th grade Saint Lucie county students overseeing a mock trial in the Fort Pierce, Florida Courthouse. Mr. Rollins is also a long-standing member of the South Florida board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation participating in fundraising and community events throughout the year. Steadfast in his commitment to the best interests of those around him – his clients, his family and his community – Mr. Rollins is well equipped for the classroom, enriching legal students’ lives and aspirations through his life experiences and professional achievements.

Steinger, Iscoe & Greene congratulates Jeffrey Rollins, Esquire of the firm’s Port Saint Lucie office on this unique teaching engagement and the long list of accomplishments and accolades to his credit to date. Our entire firm is committed to the South Florida community and more specifically to those who have been injured due to others’ negligence. We look forward to continually educating the South Florida community of their choices, their options and their rights in light of difficult times. If you or someone you know has been injured, let us help educate you and them – your call and the advice are free any time day or night. Jeffrey Rollins, Esquire and the personal injury legal team of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene are here for you when you need us most.

And to a friendly visit from Paige, Bob, Roz and family, almost all in SIG tees! A whole bunch of breeze in the morning, plenty of sun in the afternoon, a little sprinkle during breakdown – 400 tiles, 200 balloons, unlimited bubbles – countless smiles, handfuls of thank yous, and tons of FUN!

The team, players, coaches and families, along with help of team dad, Gary T. Iscoe from Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, won it all in the end!

After an uphill fight to attend and be allowed to participate with their teammates in the 2010 P.A.L. Basketball Tournament at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, the Boynton Hoops 12-and-under basketball team won the championship game as a team. The national Police Athletic League’s mantra, “Cops and kids working together” is a mantra three young basketball players and their families were afraid would not ring true April 9 at the commencement of the 2010 Florida P.A.L Tournament. The state PAL’s Jacksonville, Florida office had disqualified three team members of Hester Center’s 12-and-under Boynton Hoops team on the basis of paperwork technicalities, called a “signature snafu” in the Palm Beach Post, on April 8, 2010.

Amid rumors of possible premeditated barring of the star Boynton Hoops players whose tournament forms were signed by their parents instead of the young players, Circuit Judge Waddell A. Wallace granted the request by Gary T. Iscoe of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene and the team for a temporary injunction. Only a day before the tournament’s open, P.A.L. and its Florida Director, L.B. Scott, were forced to allow players Dijoun Farquharson, 12; Daniel Iscoe, 10; and Christoff Nairn, 11 to join their team in tournament play on April 9 and through the weekend.

Steinger, Iscoe & Greene attorney Jeffrey R. Rollins will be in attendance Saturday April 24, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fort Pierce courthouse where fourth- and fifth-grade Northport K-8 School students will unveil their verdict in the negligence case of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry v. Rubeus Hagrid. As chair of the Saint Lucie County Bar Association Mock Trial program, Rollins will be overseeing the court proceedings at Saturday’s mock trial.

Jeffrey, along with other attorneys, facilitated some pre-trial preparations for the mock trial. Students broke up into groups in preparation to become the bailiff, jury, lawyers, judge and witnesses. Each lawyer worked with a group of students to assist in honing critical thinking skills and teach and explain the purpose of the trial process as well as helping the students learn the major parts of a trial.

All are invited to come out and observe the legal proceedings in action on Saturday, April 24, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fort Pierce courthouse as students take the stand and present their arguments. Steinger, Iscoe & Greene applauds the efforts of firm attorney Jeffrey R. Rollins and congratulates the students whose involvement in Saturday’s mock trial shows promise toward the future of our legal justice system locally, throughout the Treasure Coast and South Florida, and the world.
